Tantalizing Twitter Tips

Tweet Twitter Tips…

Alas some sweet sweet brevity within the whirlwind world of Social Media.

3 effective Twittering tips that are real quick to implement:

  • Put your Twitter bio to good use: people check out your Twitter bio before following you. So make it good. Make it fun. Make it real. Choose words wisely, use the max available. Include your picture.
  •  Include an image in your tweet. Of course you want your tweet shared, but first you have to get people to read it. In a recent split test conducted by @Buffer, tweets with pictures received 18% more clicks, 89% more favourites & 150% more retweets.
  •  Engage with others on Twitter. Don’t just build it and wait for followers to come. Find, follow, like, retweet and instigate interesting Twitter conversations.

Thanks for stopping by!

What can I say? I enjoy coming up with lists of ATTENTION grabbing words. Which happens to be a good thing when you’re into Social Media.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again and probably again a few times after that. Words do matter! They should jump out at you.

Here is today’s list of whacky attention grabbers.

  • Crazy
  • Madcap
  • Wild
  • Mad
  • Weird
  • Silly
  • Zany

Notice the theme? Yup, suggestions from a thesaurus for the word wacky/whacky. Let’s see what else can I share in 49 words or less? I know, here’s a terrific #Twitter tip from @KimGarst.Make your Tweets stand out – be funny, poignant, or otherwise unique”.

The way I figure it is, if I’m myself when I tweet then I know I’m being “otherwise unique”.

Bloody Rude If You Ask Me

Why You Gotta be So Rude?!?!

I do my best to let it be. I try not to be offended but, I’m only human.

I don’t follow, like retweet, repost, share or otherwise “socialize” to get a response. I do it because I find the information, the person or both interesting.

It’s downright rude when there’s no reply, no acknowledgement; absolutely nothing but written silence. I know feeling snubbed isn’t necessarily rational but I do.

If you’re partaking in “Social” Media, then practice “Social” etiquette. Say please, say thank you and without exception ALWAYS answer legitimate questions, especially if you are a business.

Rule of thumb; if you would say thank you in a real world social setting then thanks is appropriate in the Social Media world too.

Thank you for visiting. Please drop by again soon.

Take care,

Shelley

Social Media a Bit of Downtime

Forget 140 Characters! I need 140 words 😉

Social Media is all about the video this month
LetsGetSocial.ca Girls Having a Little Social Time

BUZZ! BUZZ! My mind is a buzz with so many social media buzz words. Maybe it’s time for a little breather? Hmmm I wonder. Does blogging my little social media rant count? It’s a slippery slope.

I’ve decided that I’m allowing myself 140 words then no more #SocialMedia speak. How best to summarize? Must think carefully. I’ve already reached the halfway mark.

So, what’s been happening on the social media front this month? EVERYTHING!!! If I had to narrow it down to the top three buzz words being bantered around on social media I would have to say video, video and more video.

Eeeek only 27 words left to. April’s been a busy month in social media. Many exciting changes but at the same time WOW the energy it takes keeping up.
